How to identify a replacement gearbox

Compare the brand and model markings, backset, handle centres (PZ), case dimensions and spindle arrangement with the listing. Backset is measured from the faceplate to the spindle centre; PZ is measured between the handle spindle centre and cylinder centre.

Description

The ASGARD Copy Lever Operated Twin Spindle Latch & Hookbolt Gearbox has a 35mm or 45mm backset with 92mm and 70mm centres. It is a twin spindle latch and hookbolt centre case with a 210mm case height and a 50mm case width.

This is a copy gearbox designed to suit Yale and Asgard locks.

Identification
Look for the distinctive Asgard style case shape with a 226mm faceplate screw centre and 92mm and 62mm split spindle centres. The gearbox has a flat rounded end faceplate section and a single hookbolt positioned below the latch.

Handing
The latch can be reversed by removing the screw in the latch, taking the latch out, flipping it to the opposite hand, and refitting the screw.

Operation
Locking Method – A: Lift the lever to engage locking mechanisms, then turn the cylinder one full turn to lock. To unlock, turn the key one full turn and push the lever down.

Notes
Suitable for aluminium doors with lever handle operation, offering a simple retrofit option where only the centre case needs replacing.
